Accident outside the former Post Office

It is believed that the driver of a car passed out today whilst driving through St. Nicholas resulting in a collision between his vehicle and a wall.  Although the driver was badly shaken, there were fortunately no injuries.

The vehicle was travelling towards Cardiff when it mounted the footpath and struck the wall outside the former Post Office, close to where gardeners were working at the time.  The impact ripped the nearside front wheel from the vehicle, which remained by the Post Office, with the body of the car continuing forwards until it came to a stop in the bus stop.

It's believed the driver, a diabetic, suffered a hypoglycaemic attack whilst driving.
