Vale LDP dropped

Following months of protest, it's been announced that the Vale of Glamorgan council is to drop its LDP that would have seen a significant increase in the size of St Nicholas and traffic chaos.  There will be another round of public consultation which should be completed by the autumn of 2013 and the possibility of plans for new roads to permit the building of 10,000 houses in the Vale.

It's very possible, that the traffic signals that are to be installed later this month at Sycamore Cross junction, between St Nicholas and Bonvilston are part of plan in "improve" access to
St Nicholas.

A recent Freedom of Information request discovered that the junction at Barons Court in Penarth is significantly more dangerous since the roundabout was replaced with traffic lights.  Other junctions in the Vale with traffic lights also have poor safety records when compared to other junctions in the Vale
